Mahogany wood, reclaimed stones

This thesis explores the integration of Pre-Hispanic Andean design principles into contemporary furniture through the creation of a Personal Altar. Inspired by Andean cosmovision—centered on balance, duality, and interconnectedness—it reimagines sacred space for modern living.

The altar is a modular, adaptable piece that combines symbolic meaning with function, creating space for reflection and ritual in the home. Using sustainable materials and a flexible system, the project connects cultural heritage with contemporary needs, positioning design as a tool for both preservation and emotional well-being.
