Vano is a wall-mounted sculptural work that explores relationships between light and shadow, presence and absence, and natural and constructed materials. Composed of stones suspended within a wooden frame, the work creates a shifting spatial composition in which illumination depends on the relationship between its elements.
When activated by the viewer, the suspended stones can be repositioned within the frame, altering the shadows projected into the interior space. Light becomes an active participant in the work, continuously transforming the relationship between mass and perception.
